The COVID-19 pandemic meant that we weren’t able to be present with the young fathers we were interviewing. We conducted our interviews on the telephone or online and this meant we also had to think about how to share project information in advance. The team decided to film themselves delivering a video version of the information sheets for young fathers, prompted by advice from project partners, that lengthy pdfs of project documentation could be a burden. We sent the video to their mobile phones and a link was also posted on Youtube (see below). The videos also enabled us to gain informed consent and had the aim of making the research team more visible to participants because they had the opportunity to ‘see’ and get to know us before the interviews.
