International collaboration: researching young fatherhood in Sweden

With academic partners, Prof. Thomas Johannson and Dr Jesper Andreasson we are internationalising young fatherhood research and developing comparative analyses in two different welfare contexts. Thomas and Jesper have identified and conducted interviews with ten young fathers in Sweden.

Thomas (pictured on the right) is Professor of Education, at the University of Göteborg, Sweden. He has published extensively and on a wide range of topics in the field of gender studies, including on the sociology of sport and fitness (with Jesper Andreasson), youth transitions and fatherhood. Jesper (pictured on the left) has written mainly in the field of gender studies, the sociology of sport and gym/fitness culture. He has published articles in journals such as Journal of Ethnography and Education, Journal of Men’s studies, Journal of Sport, Education and Society, and SAGE Open.
